hello all~

it's been a good while since I've spent any significant or useful time around devART, so I thought I would write a good update.

at the end of April, I finished my master's degree, and completed the semester having participated in two immensely rewarding class projects in the community (a national register historic district nomination and the drafting of design guidelines for a historic district). I officially graduated a couple weeks ago. Whew! I think I'm done going to school again for a while, but I'm not ruling out doctorate study. if that happens, it probably won't be for a little while.

so in the next couple weeks I'm moving to Florida, which is new and scary, but new and scary has become a bit routine. I'm sure I'll do fine. unfortunately, central Florida doesn't have the same pressing need for historic preservationists, but I'll do the best I can, jobwise.

otherwise, I still manage to be so busy that I literally haven't drawn anything since February. @_@ so much traveling and so many social engagements. in fact, I am going to the first wedding of my adult life on Sunday! about the only creative endeavor I've had time for (and unfortunately just barely) is playing in the D&D campaign my man DMs, which is seriously awesome. it took me a couple sessions to get accustomed to the pace. the campaign went underway more than three months ago but I still don't have a great feel for my character. xD this is just about the first time I haven't minded that. mostly it bums me out that I have to wait another week for the play to resume.

if I do manage to draw anything, I'm really hoping to use SAI, that compact and fabulous Japanese painting program that's been going around (I blame *zambi for introducing me to it). it seems to combine the best aspects of openCanvas and Painter, and according to Zammie, Flash, too, which I haven't used. anyway, if I scrape something together, you'll find it here.

finally, Atlanta has joined the rest of the civilized world and opened at least two H&M stores. I'm thrilled! so thrilled that I waited 20 minutes to use a fitting room and another 15 to check out. xD
