it's been SO LONG since I painted a thing, and since my laptop fought me every step of the way I don't think I'll paint a thing again. at least, on this computer. I'm thinking very hard about buying a new one.
anyway, this is Vidonia. I started off by calling her a dryad, but dryad is the term for a nymph linked to an oak tree, so I think I'll call her a vine-nymph instead. she is kind of twisted (hur hur). I very much have Dan to thank for both the character concept and the inspiration to draw in the first place--we were RPing a scene (as happens every blue moon or so) and Vidonia literally came out of nowhere. she just kinna materialized out of his suggestions. :B

I don't think I've ever been this out of touch with devart. I'm sorry, guys. grad school is such a creativity slayer. at least I did pretty well this term.
Actually I really like the general colour scheme (you used all my favourite greens :B) and her hair stuff is really cool 'cause it looks like vine-y shamanistic dreadlocks.
oh that's so pretty all those colours and that prettyface and uhhh! *__* I just looove her hair and that hand! Hand where there's growing.. what's that word.. oh, root! Growing roots! It's prettyy.
Plus I'm just happy to see your drawings again. My eyes almost popped out when I saw that "1 deviation, artist Horribletak"

oh my gosh pretty! I love all the pinkish/orange-ish tones in her skin, it makes the green soooooo much more dimensional looking... wait is that the phrasing I was looking for? oh whatever. We'll go with it.
Anywho, I'm glad your term went well. The very idea of grad school kinda scares the hell outta me... so kudos to you for actually having the guts to go the extra mile ^__^

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
